James Livingston is a practitioner of Structural Integration, based on the work of Ida P. Rolf. He completed his initial Structural Integration training in 2005, with Lee Joseph at the Pacific Center for Awareness and Bodywork. He has continued his training in Structural Integration with Emmett Hutchins, becoming a practitioner with the Guild for Structural Integration.
He offers the classic ten sessions of Structural Integration. The focus of this work is on balancing the body within the field of gravity. The Structural Integration method releases tension and adhesions resulting from injury, repetitive motion, and postural holding patterns. All sessions involve movement and postural analysis designed to support the process of creating positive, enduring changes and freedom from pain.
James developed an interest in bodywork while recovering from a serious skiing accident 20 years ago. Through his own successful journey of recovery and continued health maintenance, he hopes to help his patients find more access to comfort and balance.
James gains inspiration from meditation, yoga, martial arts, nature, reading, writing, theater, music, and being an uncle.
